This is the Crew Page for the scurvy dogs that call Mad Dog Voyager home. Although we know who we are, and the people we know who know us also know that we know who we are but it's the people that don't know us, haven't met us or maybe have never met the people we know who know that we know who we..... Oh, this is getting too complicated - just read on and find out about us.

CR Yacht 400DS Mad Dog VoyagerThe crew of The CR Yacht 400DS Sailing vessel Mad Dog Voyager

Life aboard (we live year-around on Mad Dog Voyager) Mad Dog Voyager is generally laid back. There's no hard and fast rule saying anybody has a particular job or duty. If there's some cleaning, scrubbing or undesirable job to do, it is never "put off" until someone else does it. Life on-board Mad Dog Voyager is more or less "take it as it goes" . If there's a job to do, either whoever is closest, not busy or best able to tackle the job does it. Simple!

Introducing each member of the crew:

Crew member #1: Dean

Crew member #1: Dean (click photo for larger image)

In general Dean is responsible for the well-being of the crew and the many visitors on Mad Dog Voyager. Cooking and feeding the crew and the many guests on-board Mad Dog Voyager is a real change from being on land. There are supply limits that you learn to work around. This has gone extremely well, and often there are positive comments about some fresh baked bread, a special raisin & nut loaf, a deluxe dinner or a dessert that's been prepared on Mad Dog. Additionally, Dean takes on most of the challenges posed by the extensive on-board systems and electronics on board. Dean is always willing to lend a hand or offer advice (whether requested or not!) and carries on with a pretty happy and chipper attitude. Dean also does most of the fishing onboard and is pretty good at it!

Hobbies: Cooking, Diving, Writing and Copywriting, Sailing, Fishing & Exploring

Crew member #2: Leo
Crew member #2: Leo (click photo for larger image)

Canon 20D digital cameraLeo usually Captains most of the journeys that we embark upon. While Dean tries to convince Leo to make more use of the instruments and electronics on board, Leo has an intuitive "feeling" when driving the boat and usually relies on what he "feels" that the boat wants to do. Whether under sail or motor Leo "becomes one" with Mad Dog Voyager. Also, with his creative talent and desire to use this creative talent Leo does most of the photography and has put together this entire website. Leo always carries an incredibly positive and optimistic outlook on life. Although you hear the statements "no one has done that" and "nobody does it that way" Leo is always ready to buck the trend and do it his way - most times with success and positive results. (Hint: read the quotes on the bottom of our pages!)

A tribute to true heroes

Quote: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover"   - Mark Twain -
